Vivid 2017 Sydney & Move into Motion With Tim Jones

The annual Vivid Light Festival is on again from the 26 May 2017. I attended the festival and the Move Into Motion Studio 8 workshop with Tim Jones a day after the opening. As usual the harbour was crowded with people enjoying the festival in the chilly autumn night of Sydney.

As my primary objective was to attend the Move into Motion workshop held by Tim Jones, I did not do a lot of exploration around the Vivid sites. I spent most of my time around the harbour and at Canon HQ. The workshop by Tim Jones is on the use of stroboscopic flash in capturing movement in motion. This workshop teaches attendees in the stroboscopic flash during time exposure of 0.5 second or more. Attendees had the use of the Canon 80D and the remote flash trigger supplied by Canon. It was both a very interesting and informative workshop introducing attendees to stroboscopic flash to capture the movements of the dancer.
