Low Light Photography with Jeremy Shaw At Vivid 2017
Well what can I say about the Studio 8 workshops conducted by Canon at Vivid 2017. Another superb photo session jam packed with photo opportunities and an overload of information. The Low Light Photography with Jeremy Shaw was most enjoyable with Jeremy encouraging people to move around to get different viewpoints during the shoot.
In this session the beautiful model was painted with infra red paint which glowed in the low light. A different and very enjoyable introduction to a creative type of shoot. Suffice to say that mere mortals like me could not have been so creative to come up with such intricate and yet complex photo session. Hats off to Jeremy Shaw.
During the shoot I must admit to being apprehensive about using the AI Servo focussing which Jeremy suggested. Somehow I have never trusted it enough to chance it. With Jeremy's suggestion I took the plunge and fortunately for me it came out quite ok. Particularly with portrait photography, I have never trusted AI Servo, but with moving model (although moving slowly) pin sharp focussing is hard to achieve to say the least.
It has been an incredibly satisfying shoot. People who attend Vivid should visit Canon HQ. It's an incredible venue to learn to be creative, new skills and gain new ideas.
