Wentworth Falls Blue Mountains
Wentworth Falls is one of the most scenic places in the Blue Mountains for nature lovers and trackers alike. There are many tracks ranging from the rating of medium to hard and for those unable to track, the views from the picnic area are quite breathtaking.
When I was younger, I was able to track to the bottom of the canyon which is rated as very hard. In certain places, the track is almost vertical and one has to virtually climb a ladder. As I get older, I do not have the stamina or even the courage to tackle the track to the bottom anymore. The track along the cliff of the mountains is one to be experienced if you are young and energetic.
Last Friday, I was joining the Canon Collective for an astronomy shoot later in the evening and decided to make it a day out in the Blue Mountains. Arriving at Wentworth Falls at mid afternoon, I decided to do one of the tracks rated medium to the falls. The track was an hour track. As it had been raining for the past few days, the track was wet and muddy and I ended with wet shoes and socks. However it was rewarding to see the falls overflowing. Going down to the fall was not a problem but I was knuckered by the time I got up to the car park again.
As for the astronomy shoot, unfortunately it was a cloudy day and I did not get any decent shots. I will blame it on the weather although it may have been me.
