The Art of Multiple Exposures

In the days of film photography, many photographers discovered the possibility of shooting multiple exposures on a single frame without advancing the film. This became a creative art in itself for portraiture, actions and abstract photography. The other way of achieving multiple exposures was by sandwiching slides together when making prints from slides.
The art of multiple exposures can now be performed on the newer generation of digital DSLR. Canon introduced feature on the 6D, 5D Mk III, IDx, 5Ds, 5DsR and presumably on the 1Dx Mk II. Nikon has the same feature and I am sure that Sony has it too.
Multiple exposures can be a very creative tool when used with great imagination and creativity but can also appears gimmicky and cheap when used incorrectly. One advice is to persevere and try and try again if you do not succeed. But be warned it can be quite frustrating too.
Anyway have fun, lose some hair and start creating.
